Join the congregation for a guest lecture and refreshments following the Shabbat and "Escort the Queen". Community members and congregants are notified in advance of the upcoming event.
Friday night seudahs for both singles and families are a favorite among the local crowd. The food is Israeli style with a hint of Persian and Morrocan influence. A guest speaker usually gives the Dvar Torah.
Simcha Torah dancing and refreshments lift spirits and invigorate the neshama. Don't miss Simchat Beit HaShoeva!
An example guest lecturer: Rabbi Yehuda Peretz, Senior Lecturer from the Arachim Organization. Congregation Ner HaMizrach invites the entire community for an inspiring and uplifting weekend with Rabbi Yehuda Peretz, a former priest from Mexico who came to Torah. Have dinner with Rabbi Peretz at NerHamizrach. (Dinner reservations required.) Rabbi Peretz will deliver a lecture approximately 20 minutes after prayer services at Beth Jacob. Rabbi Peretz will give a speech at Ner HaMizrach. Topic:Why Do We Suffer in Exile? Lecture in Hebrew at NerHamMizrach. Topic:The Purpose of Creation. Followed by Jewish and Israeli Songs.
Shavuot night Torah study. Engaging discourse with Rabbinical scholars and refreshments throughout the night. 12:30am - 5:45am
